Are your headends prepared for the digital transition?
Throughout the industry, one date has been marked on every calendar. On February 17, 2009, off-air analog broadcast signals will be completely replaced by digital signals. If you’re using a headend and getting local channels from an off-air antenna, you will need to upgrade.
At about half the price of other solutions, the DAC-860 is a simple, cost effective solution for your SMATV system. It takes an off-air digital signal and down converts it to analog, so your customers can receive local channels without a digital set-top converter box. The DAC-860 also converts the Information Carrier into the analog output so SAP and closed-captioning can be controlled by the end user instead of at the headend.
Use the DAC-860 to expand your customers’ options. Many stations are multi-casting with digital broadcasts, so viewers can receive 2 or 3
times as many local channels by adding the dot 2, dot 3 and dot 4 channels, available with no monthly fees.
The DAC-860 will give you crystal clear reception on local channels without ghosting, sparkles or a fuzzy picture, even in bad weather.
The DAC-860 is a dual-slot micro-mod, so a PRC12 chassis and PPS12 power supply will support up to six DAC-860 decoders.
The DAC-860 is available at Pace International’s eDistribution site.
