SkyFILES: Sink or Swim for Sat Radio
The new satellite radio behemoth has taken Fungus off the air.
The audio stream dedicated to all things punk, first envisioned by XM in 2004, has been replaced with a repetitive infomercial touting - no kidding - AC/DC's new album. No more noise from the Ramones, Husker Du or Bad Brains. No more of the good West Coast stuff from Rancid, NOFX, Pennywise, Bad Religion or the Descendents. And none of the U.K. classics from The Clash or the Buzzcocks, not to mention the filth and the fury of the Sex Pistols. »

According to Parks, products like HDTVs, Blu-ray players, data networks and mobile phones, along with residential broadband services and DTV, will drive this growth over the next few years. »

Disasters & Other News
I've been having some trouble keeping my eye on the multiplatform ball what with grandstanding presidential candidates, failing banks, $700 billion bailouts and golden parachutes blooming over some of those most responsible for the mess. But then my family got up close and personal with the aftermath of a natural disaster and ... wham! ... that multiplatform ball came rolling back. »
